Kay began her full time career in public accounting immediately after graduation, and became licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Georgia in 2003. In January 2006, she joined the firm and was admitted as a partner in January, 2016.  Kay is also licensed as a Certified Fraud Examiner and as a Chartered Global Management Accountant.

With fifteen years of experience, Kay has a broad range of knowledge that includes financial statement preparation, auditing and forensic accounting, income tax, and business tax and advisory services. Kay is particularly passionate about providing management advisory, tax, and consulting services for small and closely held businesses.  She also has extensive knowledge of accounting and auditing for nonprofit organizations and governmental entities.  Her forensic accounting experience includes interviewing, investigative fieldwork, and testimony.  Kay enjoys speaking to various groups on topics related to finance and accounting, including budgeting and financial stewardship.  She also frequently instructs others on the use of the QuickBooks accounting software, both individually and in group settings.

Kay is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. She is very active in the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, where she serves on the Leadership Council.  She has also served on their statewide Board of Directors, Audit Committee, and Financial Literacy Committee. In January of 2006, she graduated from the Georgia Society of CPA’s Leadership Academy and she is also past president of the Southeast Georgia Chapter. In 2011, she was named one of Statesboro Herald’s top 20 under 40 business professionals.  Originally from Burke County, Kay now resides in Millen, Georgia where she is an active member of Elam Baptist Church, serving as treasurer and chair of the finance committee and as an AWANA volunteer. She is married to Johnathon Proctor, a small business owner and native of Jenkins County, and they have two children, Ian and Layla.
